Low Power Source Biased Semi-Adiabatic Logic Circuit for IoT Devices

説明

Power consumption has become an issue in the recent advances in technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Most of the IoT devices require energy autonomy, means there is high possibility to harvest energy from the surrounding environment. In this context, it is important to design a appropriate low-power logic circuit for power transfer and power management for energy efficient IoT Devices. This paper presents a low-power source biased semi-adiabatic logic (SBSAL) circuit. The energy dissipation of the proposed circuit is compared with other fundamental logic styles. To validate the effectiveness of low-power circuit, the proposed work is further implemented in a 4×4 bits LSI multiplier using 0.18 m CMOS process technology at 10 KHz – 100 MHz dynamic frequency ranges. The simulation results show that the proposed SBSAL reduces energy about 1/100 in comparing with the conventional CMOS logic.
