Presenting scene illumination on real-object surfaces
Description
Human observers can utilize the light field or scene illumination to perceive objects [1]. To investigate effects of the light field on object perception or material perception, computer graphics is employed to render objects surfaces under a certain scene illumination. However, representations of various materials in computer graphics have some limitations even with BRDF (Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function) and BSSRDF (Bidirectional surface scattering reflectance distribution function). Thus, we aimed to develop a system for capturing and presenting various scene illuminations, and to investigate effects of scene illumination on real objects' surfaces.
