Transient-Operation Properties of a Magnetic Reducer Analyzed with FEM Considering Time-Stepping Motion Equations
Description
Magnetic gears have attracted a lot of interest in various applications since they can transmit torque without mechanical contact. They have therefore advantages such as low vibration, low acoustic noise, no friction, and so on. In this paper transient-operation properties of a harmonic magnetic reducer model based on the Atallah's model are analyzed with the finite element method. The dynamic transient phenomena are represented in the simulation, combining the finite element method with the time-stepping motion equations. The computation time is effectively reduced with the presented method.
