Optical Switching in Photonic Crystal Waveguide Controlled by Micro Electro Mechanical System

We demonstrated MEMS-controlled optical switching operation in photonic crystal waveguide. An extinction ratio of ~ 10 dB and a modulation frequency of ~ 500Hz were obtained at an applied voltage of 60 V.
