Fractionation of human gastric juices by gel filtration on sephadex G-200

Description

We studied on human gastr ic juices (basal and af te r Histamine injection) in pat ients wi th gastr ic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, and controls . They have A, B, AB and O Type blood as a secretor or non. Collected gas t r ic juices were centrifuged (10000 r . p . m . 20 minutes), dialysed (4~ 24 hours), and condenced by Carbowax 6000 30% solution, and then have been fract ionated by Gel fi l tration on Sephadex G-200. (eluant : Borate buffer pH 9.0 ionic s t r eng th 0.24). Through the fract ionat ion, two peaks could be separated. F i r s t peak is smaller than second and is d is t r ibuted in anodic portion close to the application point following by paper electrophoresis. The blood group substances have found in the first peak by hemagglut inat ion inhibi t ion method in secretors. They are same in var ious blood groups, between basal and af ter h is tamine gastr ic juice demonstrated var ious acidities in pa t ien ts wi th gastr ic or duodenal ulcer, and controls.
