Description
Abstract Fluorescence and phosphorescence of quinine and its related compounds are found to exhibit a red-shift upon excitation at the long wavelength edge of the first absorption band, and this anomaly is investigated in detail. A mechanism which satisfactorily accounts for the experimental findings is proposed.
