Research Abstract
In various quantum many-body systems consisting of strongly correlated electrons and spin, we have investigated new quantum phases with rotational symmetry breaking, and topological phases in which fractional excitations of quasiparticles appear. Specifically, (1) rotational symmetry breaking in the pseudogap phase of cuprate high-Tc superconductors, (2) anomalous electronic states induced by nematic fluctuations in iron-based high-Tc superconductors, (3) novel superconducting states in the BCS-BEC crossover region, (4) exotic quasiparticles in quantum spin liquids, (5) Kitaev spin liquid (6) quantum oscillations of Kondo insulators in strong magnetic fields (7) atomic Turing mechanism.
