Research Abstract
ヒト（Homo sapiens）は外見において著しい多様性を示す一方、遺伝的な多様性は乏しいという風変わりな特徴をもっている。ヒト多様性の本質的理解には、このようなパラドックスが生じた背景を解明することが欠かせない。そこで本研究では、日本列島を中心とするアジア人を対象として、遺跡出土人骨の形態分析、ゲノム解析、生理人類学などの手法を組み合わせて、体サイズ・体型・顔面骨格などが過去数万年間に多様化した経緯とその成因を探る。
