ラポールとは,日本で主に心理学の分野で用いられている言葉で,多くの場合それはカウンセリングの場面におけるカウンセラーとクライアントの間に存在する人間関係等を指す。本研究は,ラポールの形成という側面から,クリスチャンユースが,どのようなクリスチャンリーダーとの関係性によってサポートされ,ポジティブな変化を遂げるのかを,質的研究の方法を用いて考察したものである。研究の結果,クリスチャンユースとクリスチャンリーダーの間のラポール形成は,年齢差や役職よりも,非言語コミュニケーションのスキルを用いた共感力の有無によって左右されるということが判明した。

The quality of relationship between Christian youth and Christian leaders often plays a critical role in the development of Christian faith in many youth. This research utilizes the psychological idea of `rapport-formation' which is often used to describe a relational development between apsychological counselor and a client, to reveal the relational qualities.among 35 Christian Japanese college students and their Christian leaders.The study uncovered that the age differences played no significant part in rapport-formation, whereas the leader's ability to empathize with the youth.utilizing his or her non-verbal communication skills was critical.
