Description

Teaching materials of near-infrared (NIR) satellite images and their 3D views have been developed concerning the volcanic topography of the mainland of Kyushu, Japan. Parts of them have been utilized for high school students in learning volcanic hazard map, under the improved educational environment of information apparatuses in recent years. In order to protect themselves from the volcanic disaster in various combinations, it is highly necessary for students to learn the scientific literacy of volcanoes by these materials. The high school students can enhance their understanding on volcanic disaster prevention by utilizing NIR images.
