Abstract
With the evolution of digital technology, workflows for prosthetic devices are rapidly transitioning to digital platforms. In the crown and bridge model training in this course, all metal crowns are fabricated after preparing the abutment teeth; however, an intraoral scanner (IOS) was introduced in 2022. Therefore, we conducted a survey of students’ awareness of digital workflows using a questionnaire regarding the difficulty of IOS use at different abutment sites, and the differences between the conventional method and IOS in terms of recording impressions and jaw relations. More than 90% of the students were aware that optical impressions and jaw retlation recording using IOS have more advantages than the conventional method. The results suggested that crown and bridge model training using IOS is a skill education that effectively raises students’ awareness of digital dentistry.
