<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p> Micro <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">RNA</jats:styled-content> s (mi <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">RNA</jats:styled-content> s) play key regulatory roles in diverse biological processes and are frequently dysregulated in human diseases. Thus, mi <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">RNA</jats:styled-content> s have emerged as a class of promising targets for therapeutic intervention. Here, we describe the current strategies for therapeutic modulation of mi <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">RNA</jats:styled-content> s and provide an update on the development of mi <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">RNA</jats:styled-content> ‐based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular disease and hepatitis C virus ( <jats:styled-content style="fixed-case">HCV</jats:styled-content> ) infection. </jats:p>
