Abstract

It is very useful to track moving vehicles for monitoring system such as automatic counting of vehicles. In this paper, we propose measurement method of moving vehicles based on tracking loci of moving vehicles in sequential images. Our proposed tracking system is composed of extracting module, matching module and tracking module. The relation of vehicle regions is obtained using overlapping of the extracted vehicle regions between the current frame and the previous one. Then, the directed graph of barycenter of vehicle region is drawn using the matching result of vehicle regions. Regardless of occlusion of vehicles in the image, our system is able to track moving vehicles correctly by analyzing the directed graph.<br>At the end of this paper, we show usefullness of this method to analyze the motion of moving vehicles at a junction.
