Abstract
The driver support system (DSS) ECU is the computer responsible for controlling multiple systems such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), pre-crash safety (PCS), and lane-keeping assist (LKA). The DSS ECU makes requests to various actuators based on information from peripheral sensors such as radars and cameras. To enable such systems to share parts and operate simultaneously, it is important to make sure that the systems do not interfere with each other. This article describes the logical mediation structures applied in the design of diagnostics, controls, and human-machine interfaces (HMI) to prevent such interference.
