Description
For prevention of water leakage in concrete by crack-inducing joint applied polyvinyl chloride(PVC)pipe, waterproof rubber is applied to a PVC pipe. In this study, we developed and tested a new method that automatically stops water by coating superabsorbent polymer on the PVC pipe.<br/>Water penetration effect was tested for laboratory size and actual size specimens, and crack-inducing joint was applied to both the types of specimens. As a result, the specimen that coated superabsorbent polymer on the PVC pipe showed to induce water penetration, and confirmed the precipitation of cement-derived minerals such as calcium compounds at concrete around the PVC pipe. Furthermore, water penetration effect is expected for a long time.
