Abstract
In-service workshops for Palestinian refugee school teachers were conducted over a two year time frame from February 2006, collaborating with the authors and the United Nation Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). The workshops aimed for promoting use of educational media in their lessons. The objective of this research is to clarify how teachers change their teaching strategies concerning use of educational media in their lessons. The authors interviewed 12 teachers who participated in the workshops after one year's time. After the second year of the workshops, the authors observed the lessons of three teachers who had participated in the workshops and three teachers who did not, and interviewed them. Although those who participated in the workshop struggled with some constraints of curriculum, support from other teachers, and a lack of materials, they tried to use educational media as supporting tools for students understanding, rather than mere use of media.
