<p>“IP landscape” has become one of the hottest topics in the intellectual property (IP) industry due to increasing demands from top management and sophistication of the big data analysis tool for patents. Since IP landscape is to utilize IP analysis upon management judgment, it is an urgent matter to educate and train IP analysts who conduct IP analysis. In this article, I describe the career path of IP analyst, while referring to the career path of the patent searcher. Specifically, I divide it into three levels, i.e., Assistance Analyst, Analyst and Senior Analyst, and explain the skills required at each level and the timing and method to acquire.</p>
