Description

The dual heat flow method is estimating a deep body temperature (DBT) from the difference of temperature between two heat flow paths with different thermal resistance in a probe. In this study, we conducted experiments to verify the measurement accuracy of DBT measurement in different ambient temperature (AT) using the dual heat flow method. We have developed the calibration device that can change in both the DBP and AT to any desired values, and set the DBP at 37 degree C. The environmental temperatures were varied from 15 to 40 degree C. The estimated DBP were compared with standard DBT at different ATs. As a result, the error of the estimated DBT has a tendency larger when the AT was lower. It was also found that the error tended to decrease as the difference between DBT and AT.
