Abstract

To increase the capacity of local forestry using resources of artificial forests, we should establish logging enterprises and develop productivity of logging. In this paper, methods of establish of logging enterprises are anaLyzed management, production system and problems encountered questionnaire to all loggers in Kumamoto Prefecture. From the results the following is suggested; (1)recipients of assistance of establish of logging enterprises should be limited to production over 2000m^3 and less 2000m^3 be reorganized as logging workers, (2) training organizations for salaried young workers such as high performance logging machine operators should be established by government, and organization such as "the third sector" should be reorganized to implement it, (3) introduction of high performance logging machines should be promoted, and (4) forest producers cooperative composed of log production dealers.
