Abstract

This study comprised a secondary analysis of a qualitative study on the “Questionnaire on the Actual Situation of Sexual Violence,” which was conducted by Spring Incorporated Association in 2020. As a result, three issues that contributed to the use of consultation support based on the needs of the victims of sexual assault were identified: (1) the accessibility of consultation organizations, (2) the acceptability, and (3) the quality of consultation. To promote the use of consultation support for the victims of sexual violence, comprehensive social services, such as those with an enhanced physical accessibility, a high quality of consultation, and mid- to long-term consultation support, are required. In the context of consultation support for the victims of sexual violence, social work remains inadequate. In the future, government “one-stop assistance centers” and local social workers must serve as the core of mid- to long-term support that aims at rebuilding and restoring the lives of sexual violence victims.
