Description
<p>The traditional stability analysis of soil is not considering for tensile fracture. In this study, rigid plastic finite element method using failure criterion considering for tensile strength is conducted to investigate the influence of tensile fracture on stability of vertical slope in clayey soil. As a result, it found that the stability of vertical slope is decreased by tensile fracture and the failure mechanism different from conventional failure mode like circular slip is obtained.</p>
