Description
An experiment was made on D. C. polarographic determinstion of Fe, Zn etc., the most ifluential impurities upon type metal. The greater part of Pb can be removed as pbCl2 by dissolving the sample in HCl-HNO3 mixture. Then Cu, Fe, Zn were separated as sulphides by the action of K2S from Sb, Sn in alkaline sample solution. The polarograms on 0--1.4V (vs, Hg pool) were ready to be taken.<br>The separation process took rather much time but polarograms obtained were good, and neither special reagent nor apparatus was needed. The mean error for each impurity was Cu-5%, Fe-4%, Zn-3%.
