Abstract
The decoloration rates of Orange I, Orange II, Orange G, Chrome Violet and Calcon were determined using horseradish peroxidase (HRP) -H2O2 bleaching system. The rate constants increased in the following order : Orange II<Chrome Violet<Orange I<Calcon. The decoloration rates of azo dyes was found to depend on the oxidation potential of the azo dyes. Decoloration rates increased with decrease in oxidation potential.
