Abstract

The article describes activities for conservation of and public access to the collection of Zushoryo Bunko, the archives operated by the Archives and Mausolea Department, the Imperial Household Agency. along with tasks to be addressed. The core of the archives originated from the seventh century consists of collections inherited from the imperial and other ruling-class families and learned persons of the traditional Japan. The conservation activities of the old stock are focused on keeping the current state, as exemplified by careful protection form fungi and insects. Description of the cataloging and image disclosure system of the collection, along with the author's ideas on disclosure in digital forms, concludes the article.
