Description
Small factories in Ota-ku have technique with high quality and work together through their network with nearby factories when they receive requests that they cannot fulfill by themselves. The workers usually live near the factory, so it is considered that neighborhood society as resident have relationships with network with nearby factories. To figure out them, we interviewed 26 owners of factories in Omori Minami Area, where factories exist with highest density in Ota-ku. This research found that more than 30% of industrial networks of each factory constructed in the same area, and 3 types of community, community in mini-development area, informal community, and local community, exist between industrial networks and local communities and lead smooth local industrial system, but such activities are on a declining trend due to generational shift.
