Description

Although parasitological examination has been excepted from the indispensable inspection items according to the advice of the Japanese Society of Human Dry Dock, it has been continued in the Center for Multiphasic Health Testing and Services, Mitsui Memorial Hospital. Parasitological examination was performed by formalinether sedimentation technique (MGL method) using the specimen of the subject who underwent two days' human dry dock in our Center between 1991 and 2000 for ten years. The positive rate in parasitological examination was rapidly increased from 0.8% in 1991 to 19.4% in 1999. It fell with 7.2% in 2000, however it was still high. These results suggest that parasitological examination is one of the valuable inspection items of human dry dock.
