Description
Many Japanese hospitals conduct in-service education, but a systematic method to plan the educational programs has not yet been established. Therefore, the education person in charge of in-service education must plan them based on experience. The author has 12 years of clinical experience in the hospital. The author received in-service education as well as provided it as an assistant head nurse. These experiences provided the motivation to continue research on in-service education for the past 10 years. This report documents the process and results of these studies, and characteristics of "Career Development Support System for Japanese Nurses" are defined. This system compiles the study results and provides methodology to develop evidence-based in-service education which reflects educational needs and learning needs.
