Description

This paper presented the applicability of a new laboratory expansion test in which concrete specimens are wrapped with clothes or papers containing alkali solution in order to avoid alkali leaching and drying(AW-CPT;Concrete Prism Test with Alkali-Wrapping). The temperature-dependency of ASR expansion was characterized with fitting by modelled equation. Then the expansion behaviour of field-exposed concrete block was calculated. The results strongly suggested that the predicted expansion behaviour based on AW-CPT was well agreed with one of field-exposed concrete, compared to conventional CPT. Future perspectives were also described.
