Extradural hemangiolipomas are rare tumors, which account for about 0.14% of the spinal tumors. We have experienced a case of hemangiolipoma. A male patient aged 49 was admitted to our hospital with complaints of the progressive sensory/motor disturbances and dysuria. Myelography and Metrizamide CT revealed extradural tumor. Total excision of the lesion was performed. Histological diagnosis was hemangiolipoma. In order to prevent postoperative instability of the spine, Harrignton compression rods were used and iliac bone graft was added. Clinical signs were dramatically improved after the operation.
