Description

Objective: In the ningen dock, the careful follow-up investigations are important for the individual health management and maintenance. However, some examinees are lost-followed up for the various reasons. We conducted the retrospective follow-up investigations on men over 50 who underwent prostate specific antigen (PSA) test in Takasaki Health Maintenance Center, Kurosawa Hospital, in order to establish the follow-up system. Methods: The subjects of investigation were 3,749 men over 50, who underwent PSA test. Serum PSA was measured using Tandem R kit. PSA reference value was under 4.1ng/ml. Results: Out of 3749 men,103 men were received directions to undergo the second screening. Finally,20 men underwent prostate biopsy and 9 men were diagnosed as prostate cancer. Using the positive predictive value (PPV) table that was drawn up on the basis of the data of Gunma prostate cancer mass screening program, the number of prostate cancer in 103 examinees of the second screening, were estimated to be 16. Conclusions: It is urgent to detect the prostate cancers that exist latently under the ground.
