Description
In this study, styrenesulfonate-based polymers with ammonium ions containing long alkyl chains were synthesized and their liquid-crystalline behavior was evaluated. Furthermore, effect of molecular weight distribution on the phase structures of the synthesized polymers was investigated. It was found that the monodispersed polymers showed a stable columnar phase despite of non-disk-like molecules. Additionally, we evaluated electric conductivity of these compounds.
