Abstract

The purpose of this article is to show some of the results of TV media education in elementary school. Intensive and continuous observations were made of a 7 year old girl. After learning how to read letters she read the names of actors in roll title, and she was able to distinguish the actor's role from the actor herself. After learning a name of the day of the week and how to read a clock, she set aside time to watch a particular TV program. She could also recognize the end of a program and/or a sudden change from one topic to another in the program as the result of the learning of "time". Based on the case study, the author concludes that viewing of TV programs in a group setting at school should be planned within the context of media education.
