Abstract
This study begins with historical research of the author concerning the concept of "Design by the Child" from the dawn of design education in Japan. It confirins that the concept of "Design by the Child" is in the flow-like relationship of the composition of the solid of "Child-Society-Education," and that. it is continually being renewed. Next, I examine it's transformation and it's ties with the state of design in the present age, and, as factors forming the concept of "Design by the Child", I arrive at the aspects of <sense> and <image>. Furthermore, I suggest the educational possibility for the creative solutions of problems structured by these two aspects.
