説明

Abstract: Immunological markers were investigated on lymphocytes and neutrophils from 24 patients with primary infection of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), and the following results were obtained.
1. Serum levels of IFN-γand sICAM-1 in patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls.
2. Significant increase of HLA-DR+T (CD3) cell population in patients was observed when compared with healthy controls. Proportions of Leu8+cells and CD57+cells in the patients tended to increase.
3. DNA synthesis in T cells and LAK activity were suppressed during the diseased period, while the NK activity was enhanced.
4. Phagocytosis of neutrophils in patients was not affected, whereas superoxide generation of neutrophils was suppressed.
These results concerning dynamic changes of lymphocyte subsets, nonspecific killings, and active oxygen synthesis of neutrophils seem to indicate characteristic immunopathophysiological alterations in primary HSV-1 infection.
