Growth and flowering responses of Tecoma stans to the growth retardants were investigated for the purpose of potting plants. One selected variety of Tecoma stans originated in Argentine was used in this experiments. Six and 15 months old plant materials propagated by cuttings were treated with foliar application of sprays of uniconazole 30ppm or daminozide 5000ppm. Plant heights, shoot elongation and leaf size were decreased by each growth retardant treatments. Both treatments increased flower bud initiation. Uniconazole treated plants were increased number of inflorescence and accelerated flowering compared to control plants. However, flower buds of daminozide treated plants were aborted after flower buds formation. Uniconazole treatment to the selected line of Tecoma stans would be effective for its pot culture, in view of improvement of plant form, flower bud increase and acceleration of flowering.
