The importance of faculty development (FD) is recognized in pharmaceutical education; however, longterm results detailing how the faculty apply what they learn at FD programs in their lectures have not been reported. In this paper, I look back on my own FD program and the classes I was in charge of at the time and consider when and how I practiced what I learned in the program. To do this, I analyzed the records of the FD program attendance on the Collaboration and Learning Environment system, the materials distributed at the FD workshop, the materials I made for the classes, and students' reports. I put into practice what I learned at an FD workshop (“Course Design” workshop) that I took in February 2018 in two courses that I conducted after October 2018. First, we introduced the "Quatro" shuttle card in the course "Medicine Informatics," to encourage active participation of students in class. Second, learning lesson design methods helped design classes on "disaster medical care" for the "Pre-learning" course. Therefore, the learnings of the FD program were useful in active learning practice and class design. However, a more long-term investigation on the effects of such programs is necessary. I would like to continue participating in FD workshops to learn and practice lesson design, as well as consider methods for evaluating the long-term effects of FD programs.
