Description
<p>This work aims to propose pictograms and sign design methods for social inclusion, such as gender and disabilities, through the design process of pictograms and signs at the World Aquatics Championships Fukuoka 2023 and World Masters Aquatics Championships 2023 KYUSHU and to consider design. A neutral human-shaped pictogram that eliminates gender bias was created, pictograms and signs that improve comprehension of people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders were created. Furthermore, comprehension surveys were conducted on the created designs with a total of 281 people, and the final design was adjusted based on the results. Based on these results, 33 new pictograms, including modifications to nine JIS pictograms, a design manual, and a sign design guideline were proposed.<br> </p>
