Abstract

<p>The purpose of this study is to consider the transition of students' primary ideation ability as readiness for design learning in junior high school technology education. In order to grasp primary ideation ability, weconducted a survey on 793 students, ranging from elementary school fifth graders to junior high school thirdgraders, which included sketch tasks at the primary stage of ideation. As a result, the type of ability of studentprimary ideation was shown as shifting up in school age from “Fancy type,” to “Image preceded type,” to“Experience oriented type,” to “Logical thinking type.”</p>
