<p>Recently, a plain extract bearberry leaf formulation was proven to be an “efficacious treatment for feeling of incomplete emptying and discomfort during urination”. Therefore, this formulation can be considered for commercialization as an over-the-counter (OTC) drug. However, before obtaining approval for selling this formulation, it is necessary to first examine its quality control-related characteristics. Hence, in the current study we established a method for the quantitation of arbutin and hydroquinone in plain extract bearberry formulation. Moreover, we compared the contents of the plain extract bearberry leaf tablet after storage in a brown bottle or aluminum package to determine the storage characteristics.</p>
