<p>In this study, the authors started to develop a robot that can clean grease dust in ventilation ducts. In this paper, we investigated the required specifications of the robot, constructed a model of the cleaning brush, and developed grease dust samples. We also conducted cleaning experiments to confirm the cleaning performance of cleaning tools with different bristle and stiffnesses. Form the experiments, we confirmed that the contact area of the brushes affected on the cleaning performance and the cleaning performance of the nylon brush was 68%, which was the highest compared to other brushes.</p>
