Abstract

This study intends to clarify the issue of Katsumi Takizawa's theology. It first focuses on the early theological papers of Takizawa, i.e., `On the Possibility of Belief' and `On the Unity of the Person of Jesus Christ'. Second, the paper describes the background of those papers in terms of the similarity and dissimilarity between Takizawa and Karl Barth, particularly that their religious experiences are based on the above central point of reality. Third, consideration is given to the connection between Takizawa's theological problem and this paper's arguments. Finally, Takizawa's Christology based on the above issue is characterized by its penetration inside and outside of the church.
