Abstract
The purpose of this study is to report on our concept and process of the design for the BRT, Bus Rapid Transit, in Hitachi city. There was the Hitachi Dentetsu train there before, but it had become a disused line in 2005. The new traffic system, the Bus Rapid Transit, was introduced for people’s benefit and effective utilization of the land. <br>At the first phase of construction finished in 2013 and second phase in 2017 and 2018, we designed the graphics of nine buses and seventeen bus stops. The graphic motifs were collected from the things which the citizens are proud of, because BRT which has the favor of citizens leads the success of BRT. We discussed with citizens group and designed the graphics of the buses and the bus stops.
