Abstract

Transabdominal ultrasonography is a non-invasive examination and is considered to be first-line imaging examination in medical checkup. One of the problems of transabdominal ultrasonography is that if an examiner overlooks the lesion, it is not recorded in the image, making it difficult to reach a correct diagnosis even if the ultrasound image is viewed later. In order to record a clear ultrasonic image that can be understood by a third party, it is necessary to understand the appropriate setting conditions of the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus and the artifacts peculiar to the ultrasonic examination. In addition, when creating a report, it is important to use the correct terms and appropriately answer the questions that the doctor who requested the examination wants to know.

Furthermore, I will explain the ultrasonic findings that are useful for differential diagnosis in order to avoid further unnecessary detailed examinations due to the false positive findings of the ultrasonic examinations, focusing on the tumors in the hepatobiliary and pancreatic region.
