Some of the technical terms in Book VII of Euclid's Elements are examined in this paper. A close examination of Euclidean proof of propositions 5 and 6, shows that it is dangerously misleading to represent the relations such as " same part(s)" in algebraic equalities. New translations for these technical terms are proposed, with a tentative translation (in Japanese) of a part of the text.
