<p>This study developed and evaluated the Japanese version of the Computational Thinking Scales（JCTS）. In addition, we investigated the gender differences and features of CT. In Study 1, a survey of first-year university students in humanities（N = 511） showed that JCTS had not enough but acceptable internal consistency （α = .65〜.92）and criterion related validity（ISTA and CSTA : r = .69（p <.01）, CAS : r = .54（p <.01）） that it consisted of 21 items with five factors : Creativity, Cooperativity, Algoritmic Thinking, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving. In Study 2, a test-retest of university students（N = 20）had good reliability for JCTS. In Study 3, a survey of university students （N = 127） showed acceptable internal consistency（α = .77〜.93）. Results of this study indicated that JTCS had acceptable reliability and validity. Additionally, CT of first-year university students in humanities showed no significant gender differences and was categorized into 3 clusters.</p>
