Description

In ultrasonic non-destructive testing, a reflected pulse from the surface of the test object overlaps a reflected pulse from the near-surface defect. In this study, we propose a method to cancel out the reflected pulse from the surface with a new reflected pulse which is generated in the new well-devised delay line. This mechanical signal processing improves the sensitivity to the defect. This paper shows validation of the proposed method with basic experiments.
