Description

The purpose of this research was to clarify the impression of the information medium and the characteristics of the eye gaze while obtaining pharmaceutical information. Seven nursing students and five nurses participated in the study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to assess impressions of information media, and gaze characteristics were measured using an eye tracker. The results showed that students tended to look at the media in the order in which they were described. On the other hand, the nurses spent less time acquiring the information than the students, and did not look at the information in the order described. Regarding impressions of the information media, seven categories were extracted: character color, character size/font, composition, graphs, amount of information, style, and another. Both nursing students and nurses tended to look at warnings first. Negative impression was expressed as follows: small letters, no emphasis on important information, too much information, and difficulty in finding where important information is located.
