Description

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to test the relations between QCM-P(Quality of Care Management-process Measurement), Autonomy and Job satisfaction of the nurses, and each item and the background in order to change nurses’ new role on discharge management in the acute hospital. Methods:We conducted a self-report questionnaire survey of 110 registered nurses and the number included in the analysis was 58. The survey items included attributes of nurses, QCM-P, Nursing Autonomy Scale(NAS), and Measurement of Job Satisfaction among Health Professionals(MJS). We examined the relation between the total and each factor score of QCM-P, NAS, or MJS and job title by t-test, type of unit and education by ANOVA, years of working experience and QCM-P, NAS, MJS by Pearson correlation coefficient, and each item of QCM-P, NAS and job title by t-test for taking more content information. Finally we checked the relation between QCM-P, NAS and MJS by Pearson correlation coefficient. Results:The results were as follows:1) Total score of QCM-P of registered nurses was correlated with that of NAS(r=0.456). Furthermore total and factor scores of QCM-P of nurses in administrative position were significantly higher than that of steff nurses. 2) Total and factor scores of NAS differed significantly by job title and were correlated with experience. 3) QCM-P score was not correlated with MJS score. Total score of NAS was correlated with score of factor 2 “job position”, of MJS.

Conclusion: Our results suggest that QCM-P was related to NAS as nurses’ ability and that NAS were very useful.
