Description
There have been two clear influences on the development of CALL learning materials: theories about the design of pedagogic tasks and the relationship between this and the language teaching approach. This paper considers the relevance of a number of design models (Blackboard, 2003; Nunan, 1988; Bates, 1995; Ivers and Barron, 1998; Hubbard, 1996) for the development of EFL assignments for the Blackboard Learning System. Focusing on the development of one piece of learnware using Microsoft Office, a rationale for the design process is outlined. In the Conclusion, a series of recommendations for designing learnware for the Blackboard Learning System will be identified.
