Description

Reconfigurable computing system, a new computing system, has begun to attract a great deal of attention as an attempt to pursue the adaptability for the application with the reconfigurability of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). In this paper, we describe the facilities of an FPGA which realize the reconfigurable computing and make a report of the present status and problems of the reconfigurable computing systems which implemented the computation algorithm and/or data processing function on FPGAs at need. Furthermore, we propose a reconfigurable processor based on the new computing paradigm which harmonized with both data-driven and control-driven mechanisms as the prospective processor architecture cope with the Ultra Large Scale Integration in the 21th century.
